Residential Program Philosophy

It’s pretty safe to say that sadly, all of us these days know someone whose life has been negatively impacted by addiction. Whether it be a family member, close friend, a co-worker, or indeed you yourself, addiction appears to be rampant in America. It is an epidemic that at one time was met with a great misunderstanding by the public at large, even by other medical professionals, but we are aware in this enlightened age that addiction is not a ‘moral choice’, but a result of underlying unresolved issues that perpetuate a self injurious cycle that all too often results in tragedy.

Our goal in providing a residential treatment setting is to allow a client to ‘breathe’, to take a period of time that is not rife with the chaos that is active addiction, to become educated regarding how this insidious behavior becomes ‘normal’, and to be given an opportunity to resolve deep seeded issues that facilitate a sense of hopelessness, depression, and anxiety.

Our program’s philosophy believes in empowering the individual to create a treatment plan with an experienced team of clinicians that creates a sense of hope, optimism, and ultimately freedom.

Triumph Recovery offers a gateway to recovery filled with new insights and living skills. We provide treatment in a caring, supportive environment, which preserves dignity and respect for the individual. Everyone deserves dignity and respect even though they may not believe they do.

Evidence-based treatment strategies are employed, because they work. Individual sessions and groups are based on a variety of therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral treatment, insight-oriented or supportive expressive techniques, mindfulness practices, and family systems theory. Our primary focus is to assist clients and their families to reach a healthy, positive state of being.

WE BELIEVE THAT RECOVERY

IS A WAY OF LIFE

Alcohol Rehab

Whether they know it or not, when a client enters treatment, so does the whole family. Addiction is a systemic condition, and by that we mean that everyone is impacted by the behavior of an active addict, and perhaps none more so than the family. The concept of addiction treatment without the essential family component is flawed, and as such clients are expected and highly encouraged to have family members involved in the treatment process, including specific groups and/or individual sessions as needed. While in house we provide many tools for the family, we also align with the philosophy of the Al-Anon program, CODA, ACA, etc., and we will help family members create their own support network within the already established programs outside of residential treatment, that specialize in helping those that love an addict.

The following are examples of didactic lectures for family education:

  • Co-Dependency vs. Helping: explaining codependency and its differentiation from true helping.
  • Family of Origin Issues: Myths, secrets, rules, rituals and messages from childhood. The roles each person plays in the family.
  • Assertiveness and Communication.
  • Boundaries and Relationships: The hidden patterns behind relationship dysfunction.
  • Disease Concept of Addiction and the family model.

A Deeper Look at the Residential Program

Triumph Recovery is designed to serve men and women with drug and alcohol-related problems. The program is for those who voluntarily seek a supportive environment in order to achieve and maintain sobriety. Clients entering this program give their consent to an independent medical physician and the Facility to carry out diagnostic procedures and treatment processes specifically related to their addiction. Clients must be over the age of 18, and due to the physical facilities, all individuals must be ambulatory and independent in their activities of daily living. Due to our limitations, we accept only English speaking individuals. The Facility does not use restraints or seclusion or administer anesthesia, including conscious sedation. The program is built on a social model recovery model and the shortest length of stay will be thirty days, however, a longer stay has been proven to increase an individuals chances of success. We do recognize that often people can only commit to a thirty day period of residential care, due to work requirements, family responsibilities, finances, etc., and in these cases, we facilitate extended care, be it sober living, an IOP program, references to licensed clinicians, etc.

We are staffed and operated on a 24-hour a day basis, seven days a week, with business being conducted 24 hours a day, Monday through Sunday. Staff includes administrative staff, professional/ clinical staff, and support staff. The Facility has been carefully designed to assist individuals in achieving full recovery.

The program includes but is not limited to:

  • Individual and group sessions.
  • Addressing the underlying causes and conditions of addiction.
  • Addressing anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma and co-occuring disorders.
  • Extensive work with the family.
  • Involvement in appropriate 12 Step programs.
  • Life skills.
  • Physical fitness.
  • Social rehabilitation and interaction with peers.
  • Education and lectures.
  • Tangible goals that create a sense of self worth.
